Laurenskerk
● During the bombardment of Rotterdam on 14 May 1940, the Laurenskerk was also
severely damaged. The burning surrounding area caused the tower, which was in
wooden scaffolding, to catch fire, which then spread to the church, which also caught fire.
Initially, there were suggestions that the church should be demolished, but this was
forbidden by Hitler: the church was 'Auf Befehl des Führers unter Kunstschutz gestellt'.

● On 14 May 1940, the church and the tower were badly damaged by the bombing and
subsequent fire. Only the stone walls remained standing. After the debris in the centre
had been cleared away and damaged buildings demolished, the tower and the ruins of
the church stood alone in a bare plain.
At 2:26 a possibly usable shot of the laurenskerk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxYFUfYeQIQ , and at 3.19 to however this location with the water needs a bit of pinpointing where it is filmed, at 3.56 a different angle. I like the shot at 5.20 aswell but its probably not usable
Has several shots, that go from left to right, not super static and are from a more distant filming point then the other one / archive number: BB-0947-1 at around 7.21 more closed up view
At 0.35 a shot from laurenskerk plus the bombed area around it. The rest of the video is taken from a train so i dont think other parts are usable
first shot is usable Nummer:
BB-0747
It is from the bevreiding so it does show the emptienes of the area however the bombing remains have been cleaned up. And later at 3.13 is there are two other shots from the church, the one with a crowd and parade, and the other aswell but can also look more pedestrian like
